打造自己专属的雅思口说模板!4个练习方法不进步都难
第一部份:简介以及问答(Introduction and Interview)
考官会问考生一些生活常见的主题,例如家人、兴趣、习惯或者食物。第一部份的重点在于「考生本身」,所以考生回答题目时,需要利用自己的资讯与经验,而不做过多的延伸。让我们用以下的例题来说明:
Do you like vegetables?
范例答案一:
"Yes, I do. I think vegetables are an important part of any healthy diet because the can supply fiber and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Without sufficient vegetables in their diets, people may encounter health problems later in their lives."
范例一的文字,虽然使用了许多进阶字汇与句型,可是这些文字并未提供考生本身的资讯,所以答案并不切题,无法为考生加分。
范例答案二:
"Yes, I do. I especially like leafy greens, such as lettuce and spinach, although I do eat pretty much any kind of vegetables. In fact, on the whole, I eat at least three or four types of vegetables in every meal."
我们可以看到,范例二的文字,不仅自然流畅,而且与说话者的个人生活有关,是一个适当的答复。
练习方法:
当学员练习第一部份时,想像自己在跟朋友聊天,心情尽量放轻松,这样比较容易说出清楚与流畅的答案。如果可以跟真人练习,更能够自然地说话,收到更好的效果。
第二部份:个人陈述(Individual long term)
考官会给考生一张题目卡。考生有1分钟时间准备,然后针对题目卡的题目,进行最多2分钟的演说。第二部分的题目,也跟「考生本身」的生活经历有关,不过需要考生进行长达2分钟的陈述。许多考生因为不曾连续讲过2分钟的英文,心情很紧张不知道要说什么,慌乱之下讲出来的话就很语无伦次,让人无法理解。让我们利用以下的例题,说明回答个人陈述题的基本模板:
Describe a time when you started using a new technological device (e.g. a new computer or phone)
You should say:
•what device you started using
•why you started using this device
•how easy or difficult it was to use
and explain how helpful this device was to you.
题目卡上面有几个Wh-疑问词(底线的字)为首的提示项目,帮助考生发想答案的内容。然而,考生也可以利用其它的Wh-疑问词,提供答案的其它内容。以下是所有的Wh-疑问词,以及可能的内容:
•what: smartphone / surf the net, email …
•who: mom gave it to me
•where: take it everywhere
•when: have it all the time
•why: birthday gift
•how easy / difficult: easy to use
•how helpful: very useful, lightweight
考生只有一分钟的时间可以准备,所以只需要在草稿纸上写下几个关键字。考生也可以在Wh-疑问词旁编号,提醒自己做答的顺序。当然,考生开始说话后,有可能会遗漏草稿上的一两个项目,不过草稿只是考生作答的指引,草稿上的内容不会被评分。只要考生说出清楚连贯的答案,就可以获得理想的分数。
范例答案(括弧里是草稿上的项目):
OK, I would like to talk about my first time using a smartphone (what device) which was about 10 years ago.
Well, I guess I am not really a techie or any type of technology fan. That is why having the first smartphone was really an eye-opening experience for me. I got it from my mother (who) as a birthday gift (why) for my 18th birthday, and I absolutely loved it.
At that time, I had just been accepted to college, and I needed an electronic gadget that is as convenient as a computer and as portable as an iPod. An iPhone was a good start. You know… it was like having a whole world in my pocket. I could surf the Internet (what), send an email, make free international calls, and even read e-books.
The smartphone was so user-friendly (how) that it took me only an hour to figure out all the functions and made the most out of it.
The smartphone was useful (how) because I didn't have to carry my heavy laptop around to access emails and messages. The smartphone was especially handy when I was on a trip. Also, as the smartphone took good pictures, it made my camera redundant. I used the smartphone for three years before its battery died. It was an important part of my life.
练习方法:
当学员平时练习第二部份时,可以给自己宽裕的时间(例如三分钟),利用上面的Wh-疑问词方式,发想所有的相关资讯,这样有助于真正上考场时,在短时间内想出好点子。
第三部份:双向讨论(Two-way discussion)
考官和考生将针对第二部分的话题进行讨论。考官的问题会更广泛和抽象。第三部分的重点,不是评估考生能否叙述自己的生活经验,而是要评估考生能否论述自己想法,并且展现分析与深入思考问题的能力。
典型的第三部分题目:
•How has the Internet changed the way people work?
•Do you think governments around the world are doing enough to tackle environmental problems?
•What changes would you like to see in the transport system in your country?
许多考生觉得这些抽象的问题很难回答,我们建议学员的答案包含以下的内容:
内容架构
•直接回答问题(direct answer)
•解释原因(reason)
•提供(个人)范例(example)
例题:
Do you think that schools should use more technology to help children learn?
答案架构(口说模板):
•直接回答问题(direct answer): yes
•原因(reason)与范例(example):

范例答案(括弧里是口说模板里的项目):
Yes, of course (direct answer). There are many benefits of using technology in the classroom. When technology is integrated into lessons, students are generally more interested in the subjects they are studying (reason). Technology provides different opportunities to make learning more enjoyable in terms of teaching the same things in new ways, such as taking students on virtual field trips and using online learning resources (examples). What is more, technology can encourage more active participation in the learning process, which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment. For example, my cousin's class used online games to get students to solve math problems and develop their analytical skills (example). My cousin said the games were fun and everyone was actively engaged.
练习方法:
当学员平时练习第三部份时,可以提醒自己使用这个answer-reason-example的模板,这样说出来的话就会比较有条理。不过我们必须强调,学员平时就要增进自己的素养,充实各领域的相关字汇,这样说出来的话才会有内容。当然在练习雅思口说的任何部分时,学员也可以把自己的答案用手机录下来,然后分析自己的发音与答案内容。虽然多数学员一开始听到自己的答案时都会很害羞,不过这是发现自己问题的最好方式。只要学员正视自己的问题并改进,雅思口说的成绩一定会进步。
