一家美国的公司宣布了一种新的埋葬方式，这个过程被称为「人类遗体堆肥」。
A US company has announced a new way to be buried. Its process is called "human composting."
 
这会将遗体分解为土壤，这些土壤后续可以用于住家花园中。
It breaks a dead body down into dirt. The dirt can then be used in a garden at home.
 
这家公司名为「重组」，它表示它的服务对地球来说是比较好的。
The company's name is Recompose（重组）. It says its service is better for the planet.
 
当遗体被埋葬或为葬礼而火化时，会产生大量碳排放；相较之下，人类遗体堆肥则释放非常少量的碳。
A lot of carbon is produced when bodies are buried or burned for funerals. By contrast, human composting releases very little carbon.
 
为执行「人类遗体堆肥」，需将遗体放置于一个内有植物的箱子中，自然变化的过程将会使它分解，留下的将会是一些可以回归地球的泥土。
For it to work, the dead body is placed in a box with plants. Natural processes are allowed to break the body down. The result is some soil that can go back to Earth.
 
目前已经完成了 6 组测试，他们都是自愿者。
There have already been six tests of human composting, all with volunteers.
 
然而，目前这项埋葬方式仅在美国的一个州合法，重组希望在未来会有更多地方将人类遗体堆肥合法化。
However, it's only legal in one state in the US for now. Recompose hopes that more places will allow it in the future.
